About Forney Museum

The Forney Museum of Transportation has more than 600 items linked to old ways of moving around. It started 60 years ago with just one 1921 Kissel car, but quickly grew to have all sorts of vehicles. Now, it’s not only about vehicles, but also includes things like horse-drawn carts, motorcycles, big steam trains, planes, horse carriages, train stuff, firefighting gear, city transport, snow sleds, bikes, toy models, old-fashioned clothes, and a lot more!
Their standout pieces are: the massive Union Pacific ‘Big Boy’ Steam Locomotive #4005, Amelia Earhart’s 1923 Kissel ‘Gold Bug’, the Forney Locomotive, a Colorado & Southern Caboose, a 1923 Hispano-Suiza car, a collection of Indian Motorcycles from 1913 to 1953, a Denver & Rio Grande Dining Car, a Stutz Fire Engine, an 1888 Denver Cable Car, a 1923 Case Steam Tractor, an 1817 Draisenne Bicycle, a huge collection of 500 Matchbox toys, and lots more!
