About School of Mines Geology Museum

The School of Mines Geology Museum hosts a world-class collection of various rocks, fossils, minerals, and other fascinating objects in the Earth Science field. You can explore their indoor cave and check out minerals that glow in the dark, as well as see one of the only two Goodwill moon rocks in Colorado that was collected on the Apollo 17 moon mission.

You can also hike the Bob Weimer trail right outside the museum and check out authentic Triceratops trackways, earn a free rock or mineral by participating in a family-friendly scavenger hunt, and much more at this awesome museum! They have over 2,500 items on display and hold over 60,000 in their collection. Exhibits are switched out frequently, so you can be sure that there’s always something new to see!
