Part of the Museums of Western Colorado, Dinosaur Journey in Fruita is a Paleontological and Geological museum highlighting fossils and dinosaurs from the region. See real fossils, cast skeletons, and robotic reconstructions of dinosaurs. The museum features many hands-on activities and over 15,000 fossil specimens. Take a look into the viewable paleontology laboratory where you can see how dinosaur bones are prepared for display. Other features include a dinosaur library, a sandbox where you can make your own dinosaur tracks, and an earthquake simulator. Kids will love the “quarry site” where they can uncover actual Jurassic dinosaur bones.
