Get out of town and visit this historic site where dinosaurs once roamed. Spanning 210,000 acres and located within the states of Colorado and Utah, you can view fossils embedded in the rocks, petroglyphs from early cultures and the site of homesteaders and outlaws. Dinosaur has something for everyone with scientific discoveries, tales of adventure, historical significance and beautiful scenery.
Visit the Quarry Exhibit Hall where you can view a wall of approximately 1500 dinsoaur bones. See if you can identify some of the species located within the quarry including Allosaurus, Apatosaurus, Camarasaurus, Diplodocus and Stegosaurus. The Exhibit Hall also features an 80 foot long mural and several opportunities to touch real fossils.
The Canyon Visitor Center and Quarry Visitor Center are both full of resources to help you plan your visit to the Dinosaur National Monument. Stop in here to ask questions, watch a film about the park or purchase supplies.
There are no restaurants or hotels located within Dinosaur National Monument. There are several picnic and campgrounds available. For lodging and dining options, you can visit the nearby towns of Dinosaur, Craig and Rangely, Colorado.
